Six Sentence Sunday #2

Welcome to this weeks SSS and my second six! As with last weeks, this is taken from my current work in progress. Enjoy!

The morning of the race dawned, promising a cold and dreary start to the day. Harsh northern winds whipped down the mountains and around the gathered crowd at the cities frozen black gates, doing little to dampen the excitement and anticipation of what would be the first annual marathon across the mountains. Over a dozen teams of racers waited nervously at the starting lines as the gathered crowd gre in size, ready to cheer them off.

“Come along Elmore! We’re almost at the gates!” In a flap of excitement, Waldo hurried off to join the race participants.

And there you have it! Comments and feedback welcomed. I hope you enjoyed them and come visit next week for another six. For more great windows into people’s work, please visit Six sentence Sunday here, or join in with your own as I did!
